Both Barrels June 2020

The duck hunting season got off to a sluggish start in the lower North Island but it is definitely firing now the weather has become more unsettled.

Those hunters who can time their outings to coincide with good nor-west or southerly blows are getting some exceptional shooting, and the widely held sentiment is that there are certainly more mallards around in parts of the regions this year.

A reminder to Wellington Fish & Game hunters that the season has been extended due to the late start enforced by Covid-19 lockdown. The main waterfowl species can be hunters all the way through toSunday, July 12.
