2024 Taranaki Special Game Bird Season For Paradise Shelduck

The 2024 Taranaki special season for paradise shelduck applies in Area C only.
There is no special season in Area A (Waimarino) and Area B (Whanganui).
This year the season has been extended to 3 weekends, including Taranaki Anniversary Weekend (total 7 days hunting).
Dates:
24th and 25th February 2024
2nd and 3rd March 2024
9th, 10th and 11th March 2024
Limit:
10 paradise shelduck per hunter per day
Hours:
6:30 am to 8:00 pm
A 2023 Game bird hunting licence and Permit must be carried while hunting.
A permit/diary costs $5 and can be obtained from:
- Hawera – Tasman Marine
- Stratford – Magnum Sports
- New Plymouth – Taranaki Hunting & Fishing

Hunters who do not have a 2023 game bird hunting licence can purchase a day licence online by selecting here or from your local licence retailer.
An adult day licence costs $25.00, and a junior day licence will cost $9.00
